Railcar specs

Two generations. One network.

Gen.1 is in manufacturing now at 18.8 MWh per railcar. Gen.2 follows at 20+ MWh in a boxcar form factor. Both run on the existing freight network and discharge through the same charge and discharge systems.

At a glance

Both generations use iron-phosphate cells integrated into the railcar. We do not manufacture the cell — we build the railcar, the pack integration and the charge and discharge equipment around it.

Gen.1 — 18.8 MWh per railcar, manufacturing now
Gen.2 — 20+ MWh per boxcar, in development
About 2.1 GWh per 10,000 ft train
Discharge in as little as two hours
DC from 1,000 VDC  ·  AC up to 34,500 VAC
Runs on existing freight track — no new transmission
